ORANGE's Buzz Editor Megan Fullerton gives us her take on the March Madness NCAA brackets.
By Megan Fullerton
As per the usual, this time of year, the majority of guys are busy filling out or discussing their March Madness NCAA brackets. Only this year, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett is offering a billion dollars for whomever has the perfect bracket filled out on Yahoo!. Before hearing this, I couldn’t have cared less about sports, unless it involved free tickets to a game and endless consumption (not really since water costs, like, five dollars at stadiums) of pretzels and beer. When Buffett raised the stakes, I couldn’t resist spending five minutes of my time when logging into my email to fill out a bracket for something I know absolutely nothing about. I’m still not even sure how betting on brackets works.
Although some will spend hours strategizing the perfect bracket, watching old film until their eyes bleed, and using statistics and math for the first time since high school, I have a completely different strategy when making a bracket, and that is no strategy at all. This is a bracket, with complete commentary, I made to hopefully win a billion dollars to spend a lifetime at the spa and produce a new Twilight book and movie.
